Spatiotemporal Evolution of the Seismicity in the Alto Tiberina Fault System Revealed by a High‐Resolution Template Matching Catalog

The Alto Tiberina Fault system, located in the Northern Apennines (Italy), consists of a low angle normal fault (LANF) which radiates micro-seismicity that can be explained by continuous creep. On top LANF, network syn- and antithetic high faults frequently hosts seismic swarms, one has been associated with transient aseismic deformation signal. To study detail seismicity its relationships processes occurring this we apply template matching on data recorded at an array borehole stations, to derive high-resolution earthquake catalog. Thanks additionally detected events, are able reveal time periods increased spatial- temporal clustering during event. This reflects complex evolution slip together complexity shallow system. Along observe bimodal type seismicity, diffuse active continuously, short-lived bursts could indicate rapid fluid releases. We identify repeating earthquakes. These events not necessarily match simple creep model therefore open possibility for new models explain along LANF.
